I got my wisdom teeth removed here about 3 weeks ago and I wanted to leave a review to say how amazing Dr. Faigen is! I never had surgery or been under anesthesia prior to this. I was so so nervous, but Dr. Faigen and his kind demeanor and personality immediately made me feel calmer and made me trust that I was in good hands. My surgery went great and the recovery went even better! No pain, swelling, anthing! Definitely recommend and want to thank the amazing staff!

I was pleasantly surprised at how friendly everyone was. They were very organized and efficient. But I especially liked and was surprised at how Dr. Faigen and Jessica were professional and caring. Dr. Faigen is the man. I have to admit, when I had my consult and he told what he was gonna do for pulling my wisdom teeth I thought he seemed a little over confident. But he nailed it. I saw Dr. Faigen today for my upper wisdom teeth removal. He and his staff did an excellent job preparing me and assuaging any concerns. The actual extraction itself was much easier and more gentle than I anticipated. Getting numb for the procedure was the hardest part. I highly recommend Dr. Faigen and North Pittsburg Oral Surgery if you need any tooth extractions. They were excellent!

Education & Residency

Dr. Alexander Faigen is a Pittsburgh native. He graduated from Gateway senior high school and then went on to earn a bachelors of science in biology from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. He then moved to Philadelphia, to complete his dental training at Temple University Kornberg school of dentistry.

Certifications

After graduating summa cum laude, Dr. Faigen completed a one-year general practice residency at Pittsburgh Pennsylvania VA Medical Center, and another year of oral surgery training at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Oral maxillofacial surgery, before he began a four-year oral surgery residency at the medical College of Georgia. During his training, Dr. Faigen was educated extensively in maxillofacial trauma, dental implants both simple and complex, bone grafting, reconstructive surgery and pathology.

Interests

He’s authored several publications and book chapters as well. He looks forward to returning home to treat the members of his community, with his growing expertise in the field of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
