Education & Residency

Dr. Samir Singh is a board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and a member of the prestigious American College of Surgeons (FACS). He grew up in Pittsburgh and graduated from North Allegheny High School. He was recently awarded the Distinguished Alumni award in the category of Medicine. He is heavily involved in the community and continues to be. He served on the Executive Board of a local non-profit group called Every Child Inc. and served as President of the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine Alumni Board. He attended the University of Pittsburgh where he graduated Magna Cum Laude, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience with a minor in Chemistry.

He continued his education at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. Throughout his dental school career, Dr. Singh received several academic scholarships for scholastic achievement.

Certifications

He completed his specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center where he was trained in simple and complex implant surgery and bone grafting, orthognathic surgery, pathology and reconstruction, and maxillofacial trauma. He participated in several mission trips as part of the Missions of Mercy group helping underserved areas in Virginia as well as the Christian Broadcast Network helping children with cleft lip and palate in Peru.

Interests

Dr. Singh served as the Vice Chairman of Head and Neck Surgery at UPMC Passavant Hospital and has a faculty appointment at UPMC Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery where he participates in Maxillofacial trauma call at UPMC Presbyterian, Mercy and Children’s Hospitals working with and mentoring resident surgeons. Additionally, he is a healthcare consultant for several dental implant companies lecturing on full arch dental implant reconstruction and rehabilitation.
