Thank you to SOMSA – Society of OMS Administrators for inviting me to present “Time Management: Maximizing Your Time without Burning Out” this week.

It was a privilege to share some of the frameworks, coaching lessons, and mentorship experience I’ve picked up over the years with such an engaged group of leaders.

The Frameworks

The session centered on two ideas that, in my experience, change how leaders actually spend their days once they put them into practice.

The first was the Eisenhower Matrix, which sorts tasks by urgency and importance rather than by how loud they happen to be. The second was Alan Lakein’s timeless thinking on priorities, which pairs naturally with the matrix and gives leaders a simple way to code their daily task list.

Together, these tools help separate what truly needs a leader’s personal attention from what can be delegated, deferred, or let go entirely. That distinction is often where burnout starts to take hold, and where it can be prevented.

The Q&A

The Q&A session is always my favorite part, and this one did not disappoint. The questions were thoughtful, and they pushed the conversation into real situations these leaders are navigating right now, from managing interruptions to setting boundaries with their own teams.

I hope our conversation gave a few leaders in the room something practical to take back to their organizations.

Thank You

Huge thanks to Linden T. and Kate Gero for making this happen. I’d welcome the chance to do this again soon.
